Objective
Vanguard Precious Metals & Mining Fund seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation by investing at least 80% of its net assets in the stocks of foreign and domestic companies engaged in the exploration, mining and distribution of gold, silver, platinum, diamonds and other precious metals and minerals. It may invest up to 20% of its net assets directly in precious metal bullion and coins. The fund assesses a 1% redemption fee on shares held less than one year in an effort to discourage short-term trading.
